On another note, is the post entry thing looking a little wonky for anyone else? I'm prepared to believe it's the failtasticness of my school internet, but if it's all over LJ... yeah.
But now, for some seriously unedited impressions.
* * *
The continuous tick of bicycle wheels and the swoosh of tires on wet pavement as the gusts of march wind whipped past her ears were the only things that Aliea could hear as she pedaled full-tilt down the hill, trying to reach the point where the parked cars and mailboxes blurred away and her stomach dropped as the street leveled out. She had to go as fast as she possibly could in order to feel like she was flying.
Last house – there – she hit the bump in the road and felt as if she’d left her intestines behind. A split second and she felt the slap of her tire on the sidewalk shudder through the bones of her wrists again. The weight of the books in her backpack yanked back against her collarbones, and her breath returned in a gasp. Her front wheel wobbled and she yanked the bike back on course, trying to control the path and slewing back and forth across the road, missing a bump against a parked car by inches.

Date: 2012-11-10 12:07 pm (UTC)Everything looks fine to me but I am on the old friends view not the new one. I click nothing. Also I have it all set 'to my view' which is boring as everyone’s page looks just like my own, but takes care of any journals that have white writing on black as it makes my eyes goes funny. This may also be why I have yet to see many of LJ new 'features'
After reading that i feel a need to be safely tucked in my blanket. O_O

Date: 2012-11-11 02:00 am (UTC)I still use the old version of the post entry thing, and I hope we're allowed to continue to use the old version.
Oooooh, I like all those details! And the word "slewing" - took a tour of a house on a road named Seattle Slew yesterday, which it turns out that was the name of a racehorse in the early 80s who won the Triple Crown.
I want to know why she's riding the bike so fast and is going all hardcore.

Date: 2012-11-11 02:50 am (UTC)Funfact: everybody called her Aliea until Lindsay started calling her Allie. And I have to go back periodically and make sure I've typed the right one.
Yeah, I dunno - I'm using the old version still, I think we might just have had some server problems. That is one badass horse. :)
